Rotary Students of the Semester, Spring 2008
Congratulations to our students of the semester, Dylon Starr and Amanda Jo Berg, who were the honorees at the May 20th Rotary meeting. They were chosen for exemplifying the Rotary motto "Service Above Self" through their work in local organizations, as well as their involvemen in athletics and other extracurricular activities. Both Dylon and Amanda plan on attending Winona State University in the Fall. Amanda hopes to pursue a career as a health teacher, while Dylon looks towards a degree in elementary education, with a minor in theater. As students of the semester, both received a certificate honoring their exemplary work, as well as a small gift bag.

$5,000 donation to the Covered Bridge Task Force
The Zumbrota Rotary Club recently donated $5,000 to the Covered Bridge Task Force for the preservation, protection and promotion of Zumbrota's historic landmark. Rotary member Mark Behrends was quoted in the local newspaper as saying that in the Club's four years of existence, it has supported many broad-based projects in order to help make a difference in the community. Zumbrota Rotary wishes to ensure continued care for the Bridge, due to its importance in the community.
