Animal Events at the Library

We enjoyed a fun and informative visit from the Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo last week, but that’s not the end of the animal programs at the library this summer.

Tuesday, July 23, we’ll be hosting two programs by the Zumbro Watershed Partnership.  At 10:30 am will be Zumbro Zoe’s Amazing Clean Water Show, where a 6-foot river otter will teach kids about the importance of clean water.  At 1:00 pm will be a program called Amazing Animals of the Zumbro River, which will feature fun facts about bald eagles, herons, otters, beavers, gray foxes, kingfishers, and fish and will even include some sculls and furs that kids can touch and learn about.  These programs are funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Monday, July 29, at 6:30 pm and Tuesday, July 30, at 10:30 am we will be having our last story times for the summer, so we decided to celebrate by throwing a 50th Birthday Party for Clifford the Big Red Dog!  Kids are invited to bring their own stuffed animals to this event.  There will also be a special visitor: a real dog named Midnight who loves to have books read to him!

If you are a wildlife or dog lover you may want to make your way over to the library for one of these special events.
