The Zumbrota Public Library and the Zumbrota Area Historical Society present Glaciers, Explorers, Farms, and Floods: The History of the Zumbro Watershed.  Kevin Strauss of the Zumbro Watershed Partnership will share the fascinating history behind the changes that the Zumbro River has undergone over the years, and how it has affected our local landscape.  European-American settlers describe a very different river from the one we have now. Hear how we think the Zumbro River was in the 1850s and how our grandparents solved river pollution and flooding problems in their day, as well as how we can take action for cleaner water and fewer floods today.

This project was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
