New Programs for Families of Young Children

For families with younger children, the library now offers a special time called “Hugs & Mugs”.  This is a drop-in playgroup that will meet at the library every other Friday morning, as well as one Wednesday evening a month.  The first meeting of this group will be at 10:30am on Friday, September 16.  The first Wednesday evening meeting will be at 6:30pm on September 21.  Coffee, toys, and play space will be provided.

Parents of young children are also encouraged to participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, sponsored by United Way. Stop by the library any time to register your children and receive a free tote bag.  When you register, you will get a reading log to use for tracking the books you read together.  Bring your log to the library to receive stickers for every 100 books you read.  Reading together regularly is a wonderful way to spend time with your children while also building early literacy and school readiness skills.
